FIPS & Common Criteria Lab of Silicon Valley

Who We Are

Advanced Data Security is an independent, third party, accredited computer security laboratory that performs FIPS 140-2, FIPS 140-3 and Cryptographic Algorithm testing and Common Criteria evaluations.

Our laboratory is accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP Laboratory Code 200968-0).

We are located at the heart of Silicon Valley, in a close proximity to a number of high-tech companies. Our team has an extensive knowledge of computer security and FIPS and Common Criteria standards.

Our laboratory has performed a number of FIPS 140 testing, Common Criteria evaluation and Algorithm testing projects for our customers including Qualcomm, Samsung, Broadcom, Intel, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Palo Alto Networks, Marvell, Supermicro, Silver Peak/Aruba, Analog Devices, Box, Good Technology/ Blackberry, Rubrik, Ruckus / Commscope, AMD Pensando, A10 Networks, Cloudian, Versa Networks, Attivo Networks / SentinelOne, CipherCloud /Lookout, Acronis, Fortanix, Maxlinear and others.

Our team members have presented papers at the International Common Criteria Conferences and other security conferences.

Our Customers Include:

FIPS Testing

We are accredited to perform FIPS 140-2, FIPS 140-3, Cryptographic Algorithm and Entropy Source Validation testing.

Common Criteria

We are a U.S. National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) – approved accredited Common Criteria Testing Laboratory that performs IT security evaluations for conformance to the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation.

Algorithm Testing

We perform testing of Cryptographic Algorithms. Cryptographic algorithm validation is a prerequisite to the FIPS 140 testing.

Why Advanced Data Security?

Advantage:

  • In many cases the product must be tested and certified to comply with both FIPS 140 and the Common Criteria requirements. Engaging two separate labs to perform FIPS and Common Criteria testing can be expensive and time consuming, since both labs must be educated about the product. In addition, the vendor must synchronize the versions of the product undergoing FIPS and Common Criteria testing. Reuse of testing results becomes problematic due to competition and IP issues.
  • Our solution to this problem is to conduct both FIPS and Common Criteria testing at our laboratory. Our laboratory can perform both FIPS 140 testing and Common Criteria evaluations, saving the vendor time, money and precious resources.

Experience:

  • Our team members possess unique computer security knowledge and experience they acquired at leading computer security testing and evaluation laboratories and Silicon Valley’s premier software and hardware companies, including Hewlett-Packard, 3Com, HiFn, Cylink and others.

Diligence:

  • We work closely with our customers to help them achieve certification of their products in a timely and efficient manner.

Independence:

  • Advanced Data Security prides itself on being an independent, third party laboratory, not affiliated with any other businesses or organizations.
