Who We Are

Advanced Data Security is an independent, third party, accredited computer security laboratory. We conduct FIPS 140-2 Testing, Common Criteria Evaluations, and Cryptographic Algorithm Testing.

We are located at the center of Silicon Valley, in a close proximity to a number of high-tech companies. Our team has an extensive knowledge of computer security and FIPS and Common Criteria standards. They participated in a number of FIPS 140-2 testing and Common Criteria evaluation projects, including Common Criteria evaluations of Motorola, A10 Networks, AirMagnet, Aruba Networks and Good Technology products as well as FIPS 140-2 and Algorithm testing of AirMagnet, Becrypt, Cavium, Funk Software (acquired by Juniper Networks), Intel, Imation, Kanguru, LSI Logic, Samsung, Marvell Semiconductor, Motorola, Nokia, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems, Western Digital, Box and others. Our team members also presented papers at Common Criteria and other security conferences.

Why Advanced Data Security?

In many cases the product must be tested and certified to comply with both FIPS 140-2 and the Common Criteria requirements. Engaging two separate labs to perform FIPS and Common Criteria testing can be expensive and time consuming, since both labs must be educated about the product. In addition to that, the vendor must synchronize the versions of the product undergoing FIPS and Common Criteria testing. Reuse of testing results becomes problematic due to competition and IP issues.

Our solution to this problem is to conduct both FIPS and Common Criteria testing at our laboratory. Our laboratory can perform both FIPS 140-2 testing and Common Criteria evaluations, saving the vendor time, money and precious resources.

Our team members possess unique computer security knowledge and experience they acquired at leading computer security testing and evaluation laboratories and Silicon Valley’s premier software and hardware companies, including Hewlett-Packard, 3Com, HiFn, Cylink and others.

We work closely with our customers to help them achieve certification of their products in a timely and efficient manner.

Advanced Data Security prides itself on being an independent, third party laboratory, not affiliated with any other businesses or organizations.
